Generation Outside

In-Cite? is a newly devised interdisciplinary performance created by Kristina Colovic and Sara Galassini in collaboration with Mohammed Mirzay, an Afghan human rights advocate and members of the Afghani Refugee community in Athens, Greece.

Our aim is to raise public awareness about the personal and legal challenges, living in detention, day to day and/or homeless, that refugees experience in Greece and Southern Europe today. For this site specific performance UNGUARDED focuses its exploration on the power of knowledge, the ability to communicate and the importance of empowering one’s own voice.

We thank all the participants and guests for joining us at Between the Seas Festival on September 8th for our panel discussion live from Athens, Greece on “The Intimacy of Identity”.

Our special guests TMDAS, Ping Chong+Company, Bond St. Theatre  and our Moderator: Adonis Volanakis that shared their experiences and engaged the opportunity for building awareness, community collaboration and the sharing of knowledge.

We also thank Dragon’s Egg for their 2014-15 residency &

La MaMa ETC for the use of their rehearsal spaces.

Thank you to LaGuardia Performing Arts Center for hosting Unguarded’s performance IN∙CITE? this past November 13 & 14, 2015 and to our special guests  TMDAS and Bond St. Theater for participating in the ‘Hands-On-Work’ discussion.
